Working with Spun Cotton Apple blanks

A beautiful spun cotton apple ornament in the making.
Several hues of red have been blended  to create an ombre effect.
A faux stem with leaves can then be glued into the hole on top.

Like all of our shapes, apple shapes are a breeze to work with. Any paint that works on paper will also work on these apples (we recommend a premium quality acrylic paint). You can also use glitter as a finish (German glass glitter, metallic glitter, snow lookalike glitter, sugar lookalike glitter…).  To cover the apples with glitter, simply apply craft white glue with a paintbrush and sprinkle the glitter on the shapes. Let dry until the glue turns from white to clear. Voila!

Spun cotton apples all have a little hole on top in which a faux stem with leaves can be inserted.

TIP : The hole can also be used to hold the shapes with a pick during the painting and decorating process. This way you won’t get any paint on your fingers.
